I n t h i s study a sux-vey questionnaix-e was sent out t o t h e c o n s t r u c t i o n i n d u s t r y w i t h in t h e A t l a n t i c Provinces- This q u e s t i o n n a i r e d i r e c t l y obtains t he views t h e i n d u s t r y has towards computerised cost e s t i m a t i ng packages. T h i s study a l s o analysed the P r e c i s i o n E s t i m a t i n g Light, computer software package o f f e r e d by the C o n s t r u c t i o n Technology Center A t l a n t i c , The s e n i o r t o t h i s pac3-uage was noted as the best s o f t w a r e package i n the general c o n t r a c t o r s category I n a r e p o rt done by S i r i c o n (a n o n - p r o f i t o r g a n i z a t i o n a f f i l i a t e d w i t h the Center f o r B u i l d i n g Studies a t Concordia U n i v e r s i t y ) . This package was used on and compared to an a c t u a l d e t a i l e d estimate o b t a i n e d from the c o n s t r u c t i o n i n d u s t r y.
