An analysis of worker motivation in a fire control organization
Daneff, G. (1985). An analysis of worker motivation in a fire control organization.
Abstract
Higher employee satisfaction and greater worker outcome can result from job and worker analysis of a fire control organization. The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources fire crews perform a variety of fire and non-fire duties that indicate several areas deficient in worker motivation. Forethoughted non-fire task assignment, equivalent wage benefits for equivalent fire experience, good communication channels, and the selection of better people managers can lead to increased effort expended by employees and more favourable performance levels. Key Words: fire control, job design, motivation, worker analysis
