Foundation alternatives for the Trout River Rd. - Route 2 overpasses

Abstract

This reports presents an analysis of geotechnical aspects of the proposed construction of twin overpasses at the intersection of Trout River Rd. and Route 2 in Saint Jacques, N.B. The geotechnical analysis included estimation of the settlements, the drag loads on the piles and the liquefaction potential. A brief history of earthquake events in the Province of New Brunswick is also presented. This paper also makes suggestions for the design of this project.
