Norman, Gavin G.2023-06-072023-06-071990https://unbscholar.lib.unb.ca/handle/1882/34048I undertook a study which analysed the roles of gateway terminals as a way of influencing transportation mode choice in the Greater Toronto Area. First an overall picture of the current transportation situation was reviewed, followed by defining the purpose of a gateway and what role they will play in solving transportation problems in the Greater Toronto Area. Twelve potential sites were evaluated for certain performance criteria with respect to location and design elements of the facility. Three of these sites were examined in detail: Langstaff, Renforth, and the Mississauga City Centre. Following these site evaluations certain institutional conditions and a set of guidelines were formulated which I think are necessary when transportation planners are considering a potential gateway location.vi, 56 pageselectronicen-CAhttp://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_16ecThe roles of transit gateways in solving transportation problems in the greater Toronto areasenior reportCivil Engineering
