Wilson, Richard2023-06-072023-06-071986https://unbscholar.lib.unb.ca/handle/1882/34266The findings from an economic assessment carried out for a potential 25 000-tap sugar bush operation in Restigouche County, New Brunswick are presented. The assessment was to determine if the sugar bush could be economically established and maintained to provide a return on investment by selling syrup wholesale. Two management strategies were examined in assessing the sugar bush: one involving the complete operation set up in one year, and the second requiring five years to reach full operating capacity. Both management strategies failed to provide an acceptable rate of return on investment while operating this sugar bush.
