Abstract
Fredericton’s premiere indoor shooting gallery, the Northside Pistol Range, has requested a system to replace the human component of their current lead clean up and removal system. To accomplish this, a pneumatic vacuum conveyor system has been designed to make the process faster and more health conscious for the employees. A trough and collection pipe will be integrated into the already existing 5.8 m wide backstop. With the help of a rotating piping system, the bottom of the trough will seal itself to have its contents aspirated up to grade and into a collection system. Included in this report is the project scope and constraints, technical background, final complete detailed design, supporting calculations, construction phase, feasibility tests and results, financial analysis, safety assessment and operation and maintenance manual.
