A low cost astronomical imaging system, based on a linear photodiode array is described. The system was tested for resolution, sensitivity, and dynamic range. Images, both astronomical and terrestrial were obtained. The results suggest that effective low intensity imaging, previously very expensive, can be obtained a relatively low cost.
