This report i n v e s t i g a t e s the shear strength of t r u s s plate timber connections and presents a mathematical model which p r e d i c ts the shear behaviour of such a t r u s s plate connection. A comparison of moment capacity versus shear capacity i s presented. I t i s determined that the connection works w e l l i n shear and that moment governs over shear when designing a t r u s s plate connection for most p r a c t i c a l purposes.
