Abstract
This report discusses two common methods of gaining access for bridge construction. These methods are working trestles and barging.
Two working trestles designs and two barging methods are described. A cost analysis of these methods based on a specific bridge construction site in N.B. was discussed. The working trestles were determined to be the most economical alternative.
A technical comparison of the working trestles and barging methods was discussed. Working trestles were determined to be the more effective alternative of bridge construction.
