Computer cost optimization design

Abstract

The purpose of this report is to demonstrate the application of a cost optimization program for a prismatic concrete beam in flexure. The main body of the report will provide the reader with general explanation of what the program does and how it accomplishes it. A detailed explanation of the program will be provided in the appendices. The report will introduce a description of the logic used to cost optimize, an example problem, and areas where the program can be improved.
