Abstract
The results of wind tunnel tests conducted on add-on roof and side wind deflectors on both conventional and cab over engine models are presented as Aerodynamic Coefficients. These coefficients are used in J.A. McNally's Air Resistance Horsepower equation to determine the change in HP requirements. It was found that due to the tractor-trailers empty return trip the deflectors tested were not feasible in the rugged forest setting. Possible solutions to reducing transportation costs through the use of a half conventional truck and tarping the loads are suggested as are three alternative transportation systems.
