dc.description.abstract | T r a f f i c noise i n today's s o c i e t y has become a s i g n i f i c a nt form of p o l l u t i o n . In o r d e r t o assess t h e impact of t r a f f i c noise on a given area, procedures must be developed and v e r i f i e d f o r measuring and p r e d i c t i n g the t r a f f i c noise generated. This p r o j e c t w i l l evaluate t h e t r a f f i c noise a t t h e Wilsey/Doak Road I n t e r s e c t i o n . Measured noise w i l l be compared t o noise p r e d i c t ed by the STAMINA 2.0 noise p r e d i c t i o n model. Free-flow c o n d i t i o ns as w e l l as t h e e f f e c t s of t h e median b a r r i e r on t r a f f i c noise w i l l also be evaluated and t h e i r impacts assessed. | |
