The purpose of this project is to improve on the pre-existing knurling machine by addressing the problems that have been encountered during its operation. This machine would be used to produce knurled drumsticks, which are used because they prevent the drumstick from slipping out of the drummer’s hands. The improvements made to this machine are done to ensure this machine is capable of succeeding in a manufacturing environment. This report includes a description of the problems that are to be fixed, the solutions to those problems, as well as the theory and calculations to prove the viability of these solutions. Construction details are then presented, followed by a budget list, engineering drawings, and finally a set of operating instructions for the machine are given.
