Item Textured concrete : proposal for downtown intersection(University of New Brunswick, 1997) Dayton, Paul; Hildebrand, Eldo; E., HildebrandThe King-Carleton intersection, Downtown Fredericton, is in need of attention. A site study of the downtown brick intersections was performed to determine if it is necessary to repair or replace the existing intersections. It was determined that replacement of the intersection is the best option. Two alternatives were considered for a pavement surface, Interlocking Brick and Textured Concrete, and the best alternative for cost and durability was found. A life-cycle Cost Analysis was also performed for the Textured concrete and Interlocking Brick Pavements. Once all costs were explored, a final design choice for reasons of overall economy was Textured Concrete.
