pulsed NMR study of water adsorption on methylcellulose
(University of New Brunswick, 1993) Lees, Thomas J.; Sharp, Allan
The proton magnetic resonance relaxation times T1. T1p, T2FID, and T2cp for water adsorbed on methylcellulose have been measured at a Larmor frequency of 30MHz over the temperature range from 293K to 153K. The spin locking field pulse used to measure T1p was 10 Gauss. The relaxation times are consistent with those found in previous studies of water-cellulose systems, but with added components attributable to the ethyl group due to the slowness of spin diffusion. The relaxation times were roughly fit to a cross-relaxation model considering anisotropic motion as well. The fits are similar to those found for water-cellulose systems.
