Abstract
Two types of laminated wooden bridge decks were loaded dynamically and
evaluated based on shear transfer capability and overall deflection.
Dynamic theory and cost were used to develop a criterion for engineers to
choose one type over another for given design needs. Of the two types, the steel tensioned
type was found preferrable.
