The techniques behind project management approaches in the construction industry have been discussed at length, and despite different project management methods, delays during the construction process continue to occur. Minimizing delays is important for the construction industry as delays cost a project time and money. Digital technologies have been increasingly integrated into the construction industry. This research aims to determine how accurate digital technologies are at identifying and quantifying project delays through participatory action research and a case study to validate the use of digital technologies for scheduling, risk management, and construction progress monitoring. The research pursues several questions: How do digital technologies impact the management of project delays? Also, how do digital technologies compare to the methods the construction management team used on the case study? The results from this research determine that digital technologies positively impact delay management and validate the use of digital technologies for scheduling, risk management, and construction progress monitoring.
