dc.description.abstractThis r e p o r t presents an analysis of the geotechnical aspects of the proposed c o n s t r u c t i o n of the Highway 407/Kipling Ave. bridge. The analysis i n v e s t i g a t e s the p r e d i c t e d settlement of the s t r u c t u r e and three a l t e r n a t i v e s t o minimize p o s t - c o n s t r u c t i on settlement. A l t e r n a t i v e s i n v e s t i g a t e d are the removal of compressible s o i l s , p r e c o n s o l i d a t i o n surcharging and foundation support by p i l e s.
