The design process of a steering system for the University of New Brunswick Baja vehicle is outlined. A rack and pinion system was designed to fit within the new chassis design. The design is feasible and within the project budget. The influences of bump forces, friction, operator motion, and health and safety are considered in the design. The components and costs associated are outlined with a comprehensive drawing package.
