The state of Air Cushion Vehicle technology is examined with emphasis on their possible application in logging. One of these applications is as a forwarder in areas of low ground bearing capacity. A test vehicle was designed and tested. Preliminary tests indicate that ACV's can be used in these situations, but further testing is required to determine economic feasibility.
