Abstract

The capabilities of two heuristic-based methods and one optimization-based method for resource levelling are examined. Four different projects are used for this examination. Of the two heuristic methods one is determined to be inappropriate and the other is best suited for resource allocation. The optimization model works well for resource levelling and not for resource allocation. Both the optimization and one of the heuristic methods are useful in their specific application. However improvements can be made to each method to improve it's usability.
