This project uses an APL program called AXBEAM to evaluate non-prismatic axially loaded members. It has been found to yeild results to within 2% of theoretical values, usually less for small scale axial loads. The behaviours which are studied include Fixed-End Moment Mf., End-Rotational Stiffness K, and Carry-Over Factor COF. The numerical procedures used in AXBEAM are, or are based on, Newmark's Method of Anaysis for Simple Beams. A user's guide and program listings are included in the Appendices of this report.
