Abstract

The r e p o r t analyzes t h e p l a n n i n g process i n v o l v e d i n t h e Skyline/Southwood Park S u b d i v i s i o n ( R i v e r v i e w Phases 1, 2 and 3) i n F r e d e r i c t o n , New Brunswick. The s t u d y c o n c e n t r a t e d on t h e e l e m e n t s o f t h e Secondary Plan t h a t were proposed f o r t h e a r e a . These i n c l u d e i n s t i t u t i o n a l, c o m m e r c i a l , p u b l i c and r e s i d e n t i a l l a n d uses. The c o n f l i c t e x i s t s between t h e r e q u i r e m e n t s t h a t t h e P l a n n i ng Department t h o u g h t necessary f o r t h e n e i g h b o u r h o o d and t h e d e s i r e s o f i t s c u r r e n t r e s i d e n t s . By c o n c e n t r a t i o n on a l l o f t h e f a c t o r s r e q u i r e d f o r t h e c o m p l e t i o n o f t h e Secondary Plan f o r t h e a r e a , a c o n c l u s i o n on t h e b a l a n c e between t h e m u n i c i p a l p l a n n e r s , d e v e l o p er and community r e s i d e n t ' s needs was made.
