Abstract

I n the s i x t i e s , the Benkelman Beam was the o n l y t o o l used i n North America f o r measuring pavement d e f l e c t i o n s . Since that time two other devices f o r measuring pavement d e f l e c t i o n s were invented. These were the D y n a f l e c t and t h e F a l l i n g Weight Def lectometer. With t h i s new technology came the need t o compare the d e f l e c t i o n s of the newer devices t o t h e standard Benkelman Beam. Contained i n t h i s report are c o r r e l a t i o n equations f o r measurements from three types of pavement d e f l e c t i o n devices. The data used i n t h e a n a l y s i s i s from t e s t i n g f o r t h e Canadian S t r a t e g i c Highway Research Program (CSHRP). The c o r r e l a t i on equations contained i n t h i s report are f o r t h e p r o v i n c e of Prince Edward I s l a n d.
