| dc.description.abstract | This report is divided into two parts. The first part is devoted to highlight some topics related to the lowest two layers of the OSI model, i.e. the physical layer and the data link control layer. This report will not attempt to cover all the subjects associated to those layers. Nevertheless, it will pursue to elaborate on some of those topics that are of much interest to the reading course on simulation of communication protocols, "CS6431". The second part gives a review of basic simulation techniques and their applicability to simulation of communications protocols. | |
