This report investigates the design for the construction of the Riverfront Drive Pedestrian Bridge. The bridge is recommended as the solution to the pedestrian vehicle conflict. A prestressed, precast double tee beam with cast-in-place reinforced concrete columns was determined to be most suitable. The cost of the structure would be approximately $421,250.00. The recreational development of the riverfront requires direct access from the downtown core. It is recommended that the Province of New Brunsiwck, the City of Fredericton and the Downtown Development (Fredericton) Inc. cooperate to construct the pedestrian bridge at the north end of Carleton Street.
